Outdoor Ceremony Pieces
Designed as outdoor work from the first sketch: extra mass where the piece carries weight, and detail held in the silhouette where sun cannot erase it.
Hand-carved ice for Gold Country weddings and celebrations, built for afternoons that get genuinely hot.
Auburn sits in the golden foothills of Placer County, and it is the market where the drive is longest and the afternoon is warmest. Both facts shape what we send. The Ridge Golf Club & Event Center is the anchor venue — a clubhouse of stone and glass on a ridge above pines and ponds, with ceremonies under a hundred-year-old blue oak for as many as three hundred and fifty guests, or on the grassy Overlook Site for two hundred and twenty. Both are outdoors, both are beautiful and neither has a ceiling. Down the hill, Old Town Auburn gives receptions a Gold Rush brick backdrop that has not needed styling since the 1850s. A sculpture headed to Auburn in July is not the same object as one headed to a Sacramento ballroom in February, even if the drawing is identical. It leaves colder, it leaves later, and it is carved with more mass in the load-bearing sections so that softening at the surface does not become a structural problem two hours in.
Designed as outdoor work from the first sketch: extra mass where the piece carries weight, and detail held in the silhouette where sun cannot erase it.
Carved bars and drink luges for a reception under open sky, set with shade and timing planned in rather than hoped for.
Pieces that sit correctly against Gold Rush brick and foothill timber, rather than a ballroom design carried outside and left to look out of place.
Every quote for an outdoor summer event in the foothills gets a straight answer about hold time, because the alternative is a conversation nobody wants to have on the day. Here is what changes when a piece is going up the hill.
Ice in an Auburn July is entirely workable. It just has to be planned as an outdoor piece from the first sketch, rather than an indoor piece that happens to be carried outside.
"Great to deal with, very professional, and the ice sculptures are absolutely beautiful."
"Had a sculpture done for my husband’s birthday party. Super friendly people and were very flexible with some last minute changes."
