Folsom
A ceremony on the water and a reception on a brick street.
Folsom is the rare town where the two halves of a wedding day can genuinely be walked between. Lake Natoma Inn sits on the bank with two outdoor ceremony sites, a garden patio and three ballrooms behind them; Sutter Street and its brick storefronts start a few minutes away, with The Commons at Granite City in the middle of the historic district. Couples routinely split the day across both, and that split is the thing we plan around. A piece that has to move between venues is not the same piece as one that is set down once. It needs a base that survives being lifted, a shape without thin extremities that can catch on a doorway, and a schedule that accounts for the time it spends outside in between. Sometimes the honest answer is two smaller sculptures rather than one that travels badly. We would rather say that at the quoting stage than at six o'clock on the day.
