Outdoor Centerpieces
Carved with mass over filigree and detail in the silhouette, so the piece still reads correctly two hours into an afternoon in the open.
Hand-carved ice for weddings, club dinners and community celebrations in the granite country north of Sacramento.
Rocklin has a backdrop no other city in the metro can offer, and an event culture built around using it.
The granite that gave the town its name left behind quarries, and the quarries have become parks — sheer rock walls dropping to still water, which is the sort of setting people plan a whole day around. Quarry Park Adventures sits in one of them. It is a genuinely dramatic place to stand, and it is also completely uncovered, which is the part that concerns us.
Rocklin also runs a large share of its celebrations through the city itself. Pavilions at Johnson-Springview Park and Margaret Azevedo Park are rented directly from the city, and Sierra College brings its own calendar of ceremonies and departmental events. Add Whitney Oaks Golf Club, whose two banquet rooms seat two hundred with a terrace looking down at the foot of the eighteenth green, and the picture is clear: this is a town where a lot of what matters happens under open sky.
Open sky changes ice. There is no thermostat, no controlled humidity and frequently no shade, so an outdoor piece here is designed differently from the beginning:
None of that makes outdoor ice a compromise. It makes it a different design problem, and one worth solving properly — a sculpture lit against a granite wall at dusk is not something a ballroom can reproduce.
Carved with mass over filigree and detail in the silhouette, so the piece still reads correctly two hours into an afternoon in the open.
Carved bars for a pavilion or a quarry deck, built with a base that does not need a perfectly level ballroom floor under it.
Winter displays, civic celebrations and college events — pieces designed to be walked around by a crowd rather than viewed from one side.
"I've gotten several ice sculptures from this company. They are fast and do great work."
"Beautiful ice sculptures! I absolutely loved the ice sculpture we got for our party. Definitely will get one again for the next party."
Tell us where the piece will stand and for how long. We will design it for that setting and tell you honestly how it will hold.
